Distribution: Occurring east of the Cascades crest in eastern Washington; Washington to Oregon, east to Montana, south to Arizona and New Mexico.

Habitat: Meadows, grasslands, and forest openings.

Flowers: May-June

Description:
General:

Stems simple and erect, woody vine.

Leaves:

Blade primary, leaflets number from 7-13, sometimes not distinctly differentiated; narrowly linear to lanceolate, 1-6 cm x 0.5-6mm; surfaces nearly glabrous to lightly hirsute.
